Mepilex boarder comfort lite is a thin, sterile, highly comfortbale, absorbant, self-adherent soft silicone foam dressing which maintains a moist wound environment. The Safetec wound contact layer has a unique adhesive technology which minimises pain and trauma to wounds and surronding skin when the dressing is removed.

The dressing is made up of:

• Wound contact layer - soft siliconbe adhesive (Saferac) and afilm carrier
• Flexible absorbant pad in two layers - foam and non-woven spreading layer that is perforated with flex technology
• Breatherable and waterproof outer film which provides a barrier against dirt, bacteria and external contamination

These self-adhesive dressings can be used under compression bandages and in combination with gels. Mepilex boarder comfort lite is designed for the management of non- to moderately exuding wounds, e.g. leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds and traumatic wounds e.g. abrasions, blisters and skin tears. They can also be used to protect compromised and/or fragile skin.

How to use

1. Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical practice
2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly
3. Select an appropriate dressing size. The wound pad should cover the dry surrounding skin by at least 1–2 cm in order to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and to affix the dressing securely
4. Remove the first release film and apply the adherent side to the wound
5. Remove the remaining release film(s) and smooth down the dressing on the skin. Do not stretch

Precautions

• Do not use Mepilex Border Comfort Lite on patient and/or user with known hypersensitivity to the ingoing materials/components of the product
• Do not use together with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide
• If you see signs of clinical infection e.g. fever or if the wound or surrounding  skin becomes red, warm or swollen, consult a health care professional for appropriate treatment
• Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur
• Sterile. Do not use if sterile barrier is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise
